TEHRAN-A bilateral cooperation agreement was signed between the Tehran International Book Fair and the Baghdad International Book Fair (BIFF) during the 25th edition of the BIFF, which was held in Baghdad, Iraq, from September 12 to 22.

According to the terms of the agreement, which marks a significant cultural collaboration between the two nations, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq will offer each other a 24-square-meter pavilion at their respective book fairs, free of charge for a period of five years, IRNA reported.

The agreement also includes provisions to facilitate the participation of publishers from both countries in each other's fairs, promote collaborative book-related events, and hold specialized meetings aimed at enhancing the book publishing industry in both countries.

Iran participated in the 25th Baghdad International Book Fair for the fourth time. Iran Book and Literature House represented the country at the event, showcasing 1,500 titles on various subjects including Islamic studies, literature, children's books, Persian education, religious and academic books, the resistance movement, and the Sacred Defense, as well as martyrs Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis. There was also a special section dedicated to the Holy Quran.

In addition, 23 Iranian publishers and cultural institutions took part in the book fair and presented their publications.

The fair's organizer, Sada Al-Aref Company, brought together 600 publishers from 21 countries, as well as writers and intellectuals from Iraq, the Arab world, and beyond. The event also featured seminars, art exhibitions and play reading sessions.

With the motto of “Iraq Reads”, the exhibition served as a platform for exchanging ideas and fostering cultural ties between Iraq and other nations.
